NATMI has a number of ways to engage in advancing the fleet industry by helping assure our programs are leading edge, technically precise and real-world. We rely on volunteers to provide invaluable guidance to help assure NATMI’s programs stay relevant, improve the performance of transportation professionals, and enhance highway safety for the motoring public.

NATMI Advisory
Committee
The NATMI Advisory Committee is composed of representatives from each of the following technical committees. The Advisory Committee provides overall input and guidance on NATMI programs and services.
Safety Technical
Committee
Review, revise and, when necessary, restructure the content for NATMI safety certification, driver trainer certification, accident investigation, and regulatory compliance training programs. This includes reviewing instructor teaching materials and student handbooks for technical accuracy, as well as the validity of quiz questions posed in the programs.
Maintenance Technical
Committee
Review, revise and, when necessary, restructure the content for maintenance management certification programs. This includes reviewing instructor teaching materials and student handbooks for technical accuracy, as well as the validity of quiz questions posed in the programs.
Security Technical
Committee
Review, revise and, when necessary, restructure the content for NATMI/ATA security certification program. This includes reviewing study materials for technical accuracy, as well as the validity of quiz questions posed in the program.
Canadian Curricula
Committee
Review, revise and, when necessary, restructure the content for NATMI safety certification, driver trainer certification, collision investigation, and any other programs NATMI offers in Canada. This includes reviewing instructor teaching materials and student handbooks for technical accuracy, as well as ensuring NATMI provides a local focus to assure relevancy and customization to meet the needs of Canadian participants.
Certification
Committee
In order to serve on the NATMI Certification Committee, you must be NATMI certified and either currently serve as a certification application reviewer or have served as a reviewer in the past. The Certification Committee reviews and makes recommendations on the certification process overall from testing to applications to issuance of certification.
